What the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wooww!! Yesterday found one sooper dooper hot wi-fi spot(Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology provides free wireless to Barista, Koramangala Customers )Sad part is the signal quality seems to be not good enough for my laptop’s WiFi card to pick for usage though I am able to scan the cells. G0SUB is the one who benefited out of it. We sat there for around 6 hrs :O with me trying to get the link up and g0sub enjoying the free wifi. We then moved to have dinner at a nearby restaurant. Today I decided to try for a second time to install AIGLX/Compiz on my Compaq M2208TU laptop running Ubuntu Dapper Drake.

I followed this how-to. Well.. There seemed to have been a recent update to the compiz repos and it worked. The rotating cube is terrific and definitely a wonderful eye candy as well as pretty much makes you “use” the Virtual Desktops.

Again there is always a sad part following a happy time…

My window borders are not displayed and I am unable to Suspend to RAM when using Compiz. I will have to switch back to metacity to go into suspend mode

AFAIK this is a known problem, recently reported by quite a few people, and I sign off by hoping that this will be resolved as soon as possible. Till then its back to metacity!!

Well I am here blogging about my last weekend experience at home. It was a nice and much needed break from the work work work thingi.. Went to ELCOT for a GLV(GNU/Linux Vidyashram) that was being conducted. I was surprised to see so many Govt Employes attending it and asking questions on Local language support and things like that. There was also one question on file system type. w00t!! Am I dreaming or something???

Then some of us (mbuf, Casanova, technofreak) went to Barista to sip some coffee and have some chat. That was nice too.

Well the best part is that day I suddenly got the idea to take my family to some restaurant for dinner. I decided that it is not gonna be some cheap shit thing and want to make them feel proud and happy. So took them to a four star hotel for Dinner. It was a very nice experience. I forgot to take my Cam otherwise I would treasure those moments for life. Hope to take my parents on some more things like that.. may be take them on a Merc owned by me? Make them stay in a bungalow that I own with wonderful garden around for my mom to walk around.. Hmm Lets see!!!

I got back to chennai today after switching off my mobile phone for the weekend .. Spending good time with my family and my bros new NGAGE QD. Guess what I was very happy for my Compaq 2208TU’s Card reader (a TI one) to read the MMC card out of the box on my GNU/Linux box.. Goody!!! Planning to go to ELCOT around 3 PM to attend the GLV(GNU/Linux Vidyashram) session organised by the ILUGC.

Hmm.. I have always started blogging at different sites but somehow I was very lazy to continue it. But suddenly I have got one more inspiration to restart my blogging. Lets see how long this continues.. Hopefully it will last the distance.
