I was a bit lazy (may be I should say *Very Busy*) the entire week to blog about the PeopleFirst Founders Day function I attended last weekend. I was involved with PF 4 years back and things have changed so dramatically that I was unable to understand any of their lingos. It was greek and latin. But one thing was clear - PF has gone to great heights and wish the organisation and its Founder great success in their future endevours. After the “Formal” function was over it was time to head to “Green Valley” Resort - the place where Miss World 1996 delegates were hosted for full night partying. WE thought it was pretty close to Yelahanka (or thats what we were told) and hence relied on Aswin’s Honda Scooter along with Aji’s thunderbird. Heh. WE started our journey at around 0000 hrs Saturday night out of Richmond Convention Hall to the resort and we ended up travelling about 72 Kms away from Bangalore. :O Reached the venue by 0200 hrs on Sunday Morning. Luckily the party had _just_ begun. We roamed around the resort and talked talked talked. We fell asleep making a bed (with three dining chairs for each of us) at about 0400 hrs. Got up at around 0700 hrs and returned back to Bangy enjoying the c00l moning breeze and the nature all the way.

The BOSSA Conference is a conference on OpenSource, Mobile Multimedia and Internet. The talks scheduled seems to be inline with my area of interest especially after I have been meddling around with OpenEmbedded for quite smetime. Also a recent interest in the OpenMoko project and my work at office which involves Mobile Multimedia and Interfacing with Car Multimedia Systems all fall in place. Lovely. It would be wonderful if I get to be there. Whats more!! Its in the land of Pele, Ronaldo, Cafu, Ronaldinho !! Braziiiiil!! Ulalalalalala!!! W0w! Beaches, The brazilian babes, Landscapes!! Err.. I gotta be there somehow. Especially after I missed this year’s FOSDEM at Brussels, Belgium by a month . Mobile technology + Open Source freaks!! This is the right confo! Be there. And sing the Brazilian song of Open Source together. It happening on the March 12-14 2007. Hope to get some leave from Office especially with so many “Freeze” Deadlines both at Office and Home coming together next month

Yesterday “Friday - 16th Feb 2007″ was indeed a day which was not so happy for me as well as a lot of my other colleagues in the project. A day which will be remembered for quite some time in my life.

Reason: My “First” Boss decided to move on after 9 years of service

Earlier in the week the team had gone for a “Sendoff” lunch to Banjara Restaurant located in Jaya Nagar 4th Block, Bangalore. The food was good, but the occasion was not atleast for me.

She “Vagdevi” had been a very very nice manager giving me full freedom to do what I want and when. No “Standing behing you and asking the status time to time” situations. She believed in give the work and forget it until the deadline. I enjoyed “Royally” under her regime. Loads of Holidays I took. No leave applications were denied We gave her a Flower vase after the lunch and of course on Friday we gave her some more gifts.

I am darn sure she feels same about leaving the team and the company after such a long stint. Her words when I wished her All the best were these - “I felt a lot during the last few weeks, days about leaving this team until today afternoon. May be this mind cannot take in any more. I am feeling numb”. Well that says it all. And the team knows the reason why she is quiting too But all said and done My dear boss “All the very best in your future . See you sometime for sure”. The show must go on.
